This Spirit is Free (Part 2)
6 ways to Find Freedom from Suffering
4. You are free to love yourself. Did you know that? Honestly, Did you know? You are allowed. You are actually obligated to love yourself. Exactly as you are. Without changing, growing, fixing, liberating or healing, anything. You can just decide. You are awesome. You are loveable. You are a drop of everything there is but you are uniquely you. When you love yourself, you create miracles. You are allowed to be in love with the creation that you are. To be in awe of how uniquely you you are. And to fully express yourself as you are. It is not a problem if you love your own expressed wholeness. It is a blessing. It may trigger those around you who do not love themselves, but that is not your problem.
Loving yourself is a critical act of ethical citizenship. It is a gift to this world to love yourself completely. Mostly because you will spend nearly all of your life projecting (and rejecting) what you don’t love about yourself onto the people that you meet. What we are willing to accept in ourselves readily becomes acceptable in the mirror of everyone we meet. Those people don’t trigger you. Because you love that in you which you observe in them.
Every person you see is a mirror of yourself. If you love and accept yourself completely, you love and accept everyone completely. If you love and accept yourself partially, you love and accept everyone partially. If you love and accept yourself, you don’t need to outsource this love and acceptance to someone else. What you have decided is worthy of shame inside of you is what you decide is deserving of judgment outside of you.
Knowing and loving yourself solves basically all of your problems. Think about it. Your most difficult relationship is the one you have with yourself. At the end of the day, throughout the night’s sleep, at death’s door, it’s just you in there. And you are free to love you. No-one can love you for you in the way that you can. No-one can love you enough to make you not loving you okay. Loving yourself is what creates freedom. And it will always be worth it.
5. You are free to be here now. Fully here. Present, Resourced, grateful, allowing and abundant. You are free to drop behind the mind and sit in the space of an open heart with discerning boundaries and flow into the realm of the Now. You are allowed to trust that the Now is benevolent and abundant. You are allowed to know that you are okay. No matter what happens in this realm of time and space. You are free to let go of the need to manage your life, to manage the perceptions of you, and to manage the outcome. You are free to trust that the web of living will secure you as the resource you are to the grand plan that is. You are allowed to bring your wholeness to the surface and be authentically present within the moment of reality called Now. For when you are all the way present in this moment of Now, simply allowing the abundant life of living to unfold you, your spirit is free.
6. You are allowed to choose, freely, what you know to be true. You are free to create a spiritual life. For yourself. One that makes sense. Only to you. One that is meaningful. Only to you. One that is deeply true. Only to you. You are allowed to practice that spirituality in ways that matter. To you. Did you know? That is allowed. You are allowed to be a spiritual being all on your own, without the permission and the rules and the tool kits provided by others who have been empowered to believe THEY know and YOU don’t. You know. You know you know. And you are allowed to explore and practice what you know to be true.
When I say I’m a free spirit, this is what I mean.
I am receiving what has been freely given, a life that unfolds me intelligently. I am eradicating limiting beliefs and trusting in my power to know: I am a human being, capable of love and hate, and willing to work on it. I am taking responsibility for my inner peace, and learning to work with my skin suit to process the energy of dis-ease. I am allowing my wholeness to express, with ease and grace, and a lot of surrender. And I’m not afraid to admit it, I love myself. I am working hard to be here now. Right here. Fully present. Inside out. Breath to breath. Mostly, I’m trying to remember what is so easy to forget. I am allowed to be wild at heart, to have peace of mind, and to be…this free spirit.
And so are you.
